Day 27~~ Digging Forward Folds

Hello hello.  Can you believe we have come this far on the vlogging journey?  I’m excited to share this next little video with you on forward folds.  In my opinion, forward folds are an often-neglected, though supremely useful part of the physical practice of yoga.  When held for sustained lengths (5 or more breaths), practicing forward folds can reap the following benefits:

  • Calm the mind;
  • Relieve stress;
  • Relieve mild depression;
  • Stimulate the liver and kidneys;
  • Improve digestion;
  • Help relieve the symptoms of menopause;
  • Reduce fatigue and anxiety;
  • Relieve headaches and insomnia;  and
  • Folds can also be therapeutic for asthma, high blood pressure, infertility, osteoporosis, and sinusitis.
  • All of this in addition to their obvious boons– stretching the hamstrings, calves, and hips while strengthens the quadriceps and knees.  See why I’m on the forward-fold bandwagon?
