HELLO!
YAY! 200 Episodes! So excited to be together. I can hardly believe we have been together for 200 episodes.
This episode features the second in a three-part series on the foundations of practice, or 3 pillars of practice as described by the Yoga Sutras.
tapah svadhyaya ishvara-pranidhana kriya-yogah
The foundations of the yoga of action consist of tapas (self-discipline), svadhyaya (self-study) and ishvara pranidhana (dedication to god-consciousness).
2.1
Today, we dive into svadhyaya, self-study or inquiry. This is where the yoga gets REAL, dear sweethearts. Where yoga goes from this fun thing you do that makes you feel good to a way of life. Where we begin to take some responsibility for our own perception of reality. It can be as disorienting as it is empowering and liberating, so if you feel a bit (or a lot) of that, know that you are never alone. We are in this together. Thank you so much for being here. The physical portion of the class focuses heavily on our psoas integration. We go deep.
In this class, I read from Nayyirah Waheed’s wonderful book salt. So grateful for her writing.
(Interested in the Yoga Sutras? In our Whole Yoga Immersion this fall, we will study this text! Registration begins 8/1/2016.)
LOVE. YOU.
