My loves,
In September, I’m leading a retreat in northern Minnesota. I am so excited! For those of you who are joining us (you can still sign up here) or anyone preparing for a retreat, I thought it might be helpful to share a few ideas for packing.
For our retreat, we will spend a significant portion of our weekend together connecting with nature. Our retreat home, Gunflint Lodge, offers many outdoor activities for guests, like canoeing, hiking, canopy tours, sessions with a naturalist, stargazing. In northern Minnesota in September, the temperature averages around 65 degrees during the day and 45 degrees at night. Layers are key. You might bring:
A warm outer layer/ a cozy vest/ a long-sleeve top/ pants suitable for hiking, canoeing and canopy touring/ a snug cap/
Additionally, we will spend time practicing yoga and meditating. My suggestion is to wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing for practice. Add warmth to your extremities for savasana and meditation. You might bring:
drapey pants/ a tee shirt or knit top/ a pair of socks/ sweater or shawl/ yoga mat or blanket
For hanging out around our cabin, I suggest comfortable clothing. Although the restaurant at Gunflint Lodge is known for its tastiness, it is not a fancy-pants place. Just be you. Our private cabin also has a hot tub and SAUNA!
casual pants/ comfortable layering pieces/ SWIMSUIT/
You may be struck with inspiration of all sorts on retreat, so bring your favorite notebook and pen. I will bring additional art-making supplies as well.
See you in September!
You will not need extra yoga props, fancy clothes or shoes, or your work laptop. 😉
Love, Kelly
